Sales Tax Destroys Commerce

Pennsylvania has virtually no shopping malls within fifteen miles of Delaware, even though population density in that area is higher than anywhere else in Pennsylvania (and, for that matter, higher than in Delaware). Why? Because Pennsylvania has a 6% sales tax (7% in Philadelphia), and Delaware has no sales tax at all. Continue reading …
